Do I need the Insta360 phone app?

Usually not needed

  • Pod is in Quick File Transfer mode and stays on transfer screen
  • Mac is on Insta360 camera Wi‑Fi and app shows Camera connected
  • Phone app can be closed during import

Needed first in these cases

  • First-time GO 3S setup — Bluetooth pairing not done yet
  • Pod asks to connect App or cannot enter Quick File Transfer
  • Mac cannot find GO 3S Wi‑Fi or transfer fails after connecting

When needed: open Insta360 App → Bluetooth connect → enable Quick File Transfer → once Pod is in transfer mode, you can quit the app and use Mac.
